2012 in review
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 2,300 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 4 years to get that many views.
Snapshots | Raptors vs. Knicks at the Bell Centre
The Toronto Raptors played the New York Knicks at Montreal’s Bell Centre on October 19, 2012. Although it was a pre-season meeting, both teams played hard and impressed the sold-out crowd with a high intensity game.
There was no shortage of superstars in the house, as Carmelo Anthony, Amar’e Stoudemire, Tyson Chandler and Jason Kidd all suited up for the match. Marcus Camby, also an NBA veteran, travelled with the team, but did not play.
The Raptors brought the fire and won the game 107-88 with Andre Bargnani scoring 20 points.
It was an exciting match-up and the crowd was its typical Montreal self, cheering intensely for both teams. It makes one wonder, is Montreal ready to have its own NBA team?
Mini-Review | Rôtisserie Mavi
I’ll be straight with you: You don’t go to Rôtisserie Mavi for its decor. It actually needs a little TLC.
The menu is written with a black marker on coloured bristol boards and the tables are covered with transparent plastic (like the one that used to cover your grand-mother’s sofas).
Although the setting will not entice your eyes, the smell of charcoal-grilled chicken will certainly stimulate your senses.
The restaurant used to be a small, badly ventilated hole-in-the-wall, but people would flock to it for its amazing chicken. The wait was always long, so the trick was to order in advance.
In the past year or so, the rotisserie moved further down Gatineau St. to a much larger locale. The formula hasn’t changed, ordering in advance is still a useful trick. However, ventilation is better and service is a bit faster.
Although the menu is not very expensive, the best bet is to get a sandwich trio, which comes with a frango (chicken) sandwich, a mountain of thin, homemade fries, and a drink of your choice, all for 9$ (plus taxes).

Summer Life | Les fraises du Québec
Plusieurs cultivateurs offrent l’autocueillette.
